Breton Cassette proudly present “100000” by Ørjan100000 aka Ørjan Amundsen.

"100000" is a deeply personal album for Amundsen, and through the album's seven songs we move from hope to grief and from loss to love. It is melancholic, romantic and existential, whilst also being witty, energetic and optimistic.

Ørjan Amundsen took his Bachelor at the Art Academy in Tromsø, and his Master's degree at the Art Academy in Trondheim. His artistic practice mainly involves video, where music and text are key elements.

At the core of Amundsen's compositional method is the use of appropriation. The manipulation and compilation of already existing visual, literary and auditory material is a fundamental strategy he uses. In "100000" we also find borrowed melodies, rhythms and riffs in which Amundsen refers to a number of styles and genres. However, his reuse can be most clearly recognized in the album’s lyrics which comprise of familiar stanzas, words and expressions- changed and unchanged, borrowed from high and low, old and new. For example, we hear reused material from Catullus, Selena Gomez, Alice Cooper, Pär Lagerkvist, Augustin, Bonnie Tyler, Michel Foucault and Meat Loaf along with lines from movies and TV series, commercials and games.

“100000” is his second album at Breton Cassette.

Breton Cassette har gleden av å presentere albumet "100000" av Ørjan100000 aka Ørjan Amundsen, som med "100000" gir ut sitt andre album på Breton Cassette.

"100000" er et dypt personlig album for Amundsen, og gjennom albumets syv låter beveger vi oss fra håp til sorg og fra tap til kjærlighet. Det er melankolsk, romantisk og eksistensielt, samtidig som det er vittig, energisk og optimistisk.

Ørjan Amundsen tok sin Bachelor ved kunstakademiet i Tromsø, og sin Mastergrad ved kunstakademiet i Trondheim. Hans kunstneriske praksis involverer hovedsakelig video, hvor musikk og tekst er sentrale elementer.

Kjernen i Amundsens kompositoriske metode er bruken av appropriasjon. Strategier som innebærer manipulasjon og sammenstillinger av allerede eksisterende visuelt, litterært og auditivt materiale. Også i "100000" finner vi lånte melodier, rytmer og riff. Referanser går til en rekke stilarter og sjangere, men tydeligst gjenkjennes gjenbruket i albumets tekster. Her er en overflod av kjente strofer, ord og uttrykk, endret og uendret, hentet fra høyt og lavt, gammelt og nytt. Vi finner Catullus, Selena Gomez, Alice Cooper, Pär Lagerkvist, Augustin, Bonnie Tyler, Michel Foucault og Meat Loaf sammen med replikker fra filmer og serier, reklamer og spill.
